Kansas City, Missouri for the weekend!

Hey Becky,
I have been thinking of going to Kansas City for the weekend, have you ever been there?
Anna

Hi Anna,

So good to hear from you, I hope all is well with you and the girls.  Yes I have been to Kansas City,
Missouri - love that city!  Here is a list of things that would be fun for you and the girls!

Lodging should be your first decision, I am not sure what your budget is, but there is so many options.

Depending on what you are planning to do, you may consider going to one of the resorts in Kansas City.   I have stayed at CoCo Keys in Kansas City - great place that you can spend the whole weekend inside the resort.   Fellow blogger Chris Bird visited Great Wolf in Kansas City and she also loved it - both are very family friendly.

Things to do in Kansas City, Missouri

One of my favorite things about Kansas City is how family friendly the town is, there is so much to do.

Kansas City Zoo has to be at the top of the list - the zoo is much smaller than the St Louis Zoo, but you get to be hands on with many of the animals and they have some cute interactive areas!

Other animal loving fun is Sea Life Aquarium - which is adjacent to LEGOLAND.  Sea Life has over over 5,000 sea creatures - your girls will surely be in awe of walking through the tunnel seeing all the SHARKS!

Next door to Sea Life is LEGOLAND (you can pay a combo price and visit both) - LEGOLAND was fun, especially if you love to build - inside LEGOLAND they also have a small amusement ride, playground, and snack bar!  Oh and pack socks, or you will have to buy some!

One of my daughters favorite stops in Kansas City was Hallmark Kaleidoscope - this is FREE to visit, but oh so cool.  They do have scheduled times, so you will have to check their calendar or give them a call - but this is a very "art-worthy" stop.

Learn some history at the Steamboat Arabia Museum - Steamboat Arabia actually sank and years later they found the boat, dug it up, and have preserved the artifacts.  I absolutely loved this stop - so interesting, but I must confess it was not on the top of my kid's list!

Also in Kansas City you will find Worlds of Fun - I have not been to the amusement park part of the Worlds of Fun, but I have the water park and it was fabulous!

Also fellow blogger Chris Bird shared with me 3 Edu-tainment Must-Do’s in Kansas City and Schlitterbahn Waterpark, - I trust Chris's judgement as she has daughter about out kid's age and I have known her for a good while.

I hope you have a GOOD trip, let me know if you have any more questions!
